Faculty Positions in EECS

The EECS Department at the University of Michigan has two divisions: Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). Each division has its own faculty search committee and its own hiring priorities. Both divisions have open faculty positions. These committees will coordinate when considering faculty applicants whose interests span the two divisions, and such applications are welcomed.

Applications and nominations are solicited for a faculty position in the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Division as part of an interdisciplinary cluster hire funded by the University President to strengthen expertise in the area of Data Mining, Learning, and Discovery with Massive Datasets across multiple departments. Expertise is particularly sought in visual analytics and information visualization.

Candidates with a focus in this area are encouraged to apply. However, all computer science and engineering applications will be considered.

Qualifications include an outstanding academic record, a doctorate or equivalent in computer engineering or computer science, and a strong commitment to teaching and research.

We are now accepting applications for junior or senior faculty positions. Successful candidates will have an outstanding record of achievement in academics, industry or national laboratories. They will have a relevant doctorate or equivalent experience, and a strong record or commitment to teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, impactful research, and service to the university and profession. Areas of particular interest include power/energy systems and nanotechnology.
